નિરૂપણ

૧૯૭૨ની સ્પેશિયલ ટ્રેન યાત્રા દરમ્યાન, સંધ્યા આરતી કર્યા બાદ સ્વામીશ્રીએ ગઢડા પ્રથમ પ્રકરણના છોંતેરમા વચનામૃત પર કથા ઉપાડી: “મહારાજ કહે છે કે હરિભક્ત હોય પણ સ્વભાવ ન મૂકે તો તેની સાથે ન બને. શ્રદ્ધાપૂર્વક સાધુ-સંતોનો સમાગમ રાખી પોતાના સ્વભાવ બદલી નાંખવા. સારા ગુણ હોય તે જોઈને શીખી લેવા. ભક્તિને કપટરહિત કરી લેવી. ભગવાન તો બધું જાણે છે. માટે કપટ કરશો તોપણ એનાથી છાનું રહેશે નહીં. નિર્માનીપણે સેવા કરશે તેના ઉપર ભગવાન સહેજે હેત રાખશે. ‘જેના નિરમાની ભગવાન, તેના જનને કેમ જોઈએ માન...’”

During the special train tour of holy places, Swamishri explained Vachanamrut Gadhada I-76 after the evening ārti: “Maharaj says that he does not get along with a devotee who does not let go of his vicious natures. One should associate with the Sadhu faithfully and eradicate their vicious nature. One should learn the good traits of others. One should offer devotion that is devoid of deceit. God knows everything, so if you try to deceive God, it will not remain unknown to him. God will easily have affection for those who serve humbly. ‘Jenā nirmāni Bhagwān, tenā janne kem joie mān...’ (how can one expect ego if the God they worship is free of ego?).”

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૧૯૭૭/૧૨/૧૫, દારેસલામ. રાત્રે લોહાણા મહાજનના હૉલમાં યોજાયેલી સ્વાગત-સભા બાદ સવારે વચનામૃત ગઢડા પ્રથમ ૭૬ના આધારે પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજે કહ્યું, “ભગવાન ને સંત મનના ઠરાવ મુકાવે. તેમાં સારું થવાનું હોય, લાભ થવાનો હોય. એમાંથી શું થવાનું હોય એ એને ખબર હોય. આપણે બીજામાં ફસાઈ જવાના હોઈએ. પરમહંસોએ એક જ ઠરાવ રાખ્યો કે: ‘મહારાજની મરજી પ્રમાણે ચાલવું.’ મહારાજે સંતોને નિચોવી દીધા, પણ દેહપર્યંત મૂંઝાયા નહીં. મનનું ધાર્યું મૂકવું એ મોટો ભીડો. આપણો ઠરાવ રાખવો જ નહીં. એમના ઠરાવે ઠરાવ...”

December 15, 1977, Dar-es-salam. Pramukh Swami Maharaj explained Vachanamrut Gadhada I-76 during the welcoming assembly: “God and the Sant break the resolves of one’s mind. There is benefit in that. Only they know what will happen. Perhaps we would have got stuck in something. The paramhansas had only one goal: Please Maharaj and walk according to his wishes. Maharaj squeezed everything out of them, yet they did not become frustrated even at the end of their life. The biggest burden we face is when God and the Sant make us abandon the determinations of our own mind. We should never make determinations. Become determined to do what they have determined for us...”

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૧૯૮૦/૬/૨૭, આસ્ટન. પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજે તા. ૨૭/૬ની પ્રાતઃકથામાં વચનામૃત ગઢડા પ્રથમ ૭૬ રેલાવ્યું કે, “સૌના સારામાં આપણું સારું, સૌના ભલામાં આપણું ભલું. દરેકને વિષે જો સારી ભાવના રાખીએ તો આપણને શાંતિ થાય. સ્વભાવ વધવા ન દેવા, ભક્તિને વધવા દેવી. માન એક છે, આપણે ઝાઝા છીએ. એક વસ્તુ માટે બધાને ઇચ્છા થાય તો ઝઘડો થાય. આપણે ભગવાનના ઠરાવે ઠરાવ કરવું. મનમુખી ન થવું, ગુરુમુખી થવું. ભગવાનના ઠરાવ માટે જ સત્સંગી થયા છીએ. એવું કરવું કે ભગવાન ને સંતને થડકો ન રહે, કહેવું હોય તે કહી શકે.”

June 27, 1980. Aston, UK. In the morning, Pramukh Swami Maharaj explained Vachanamrut Gadhada I-76, “In the betterment of others is our own betterment. In the goodwill of others is our own goodwill. If we maintain good sentiments toward others, then we will experience peace. Do not let vices increase; let devotion increase. Ego is one, and we (who wish for ego) are many. If many want the same thing, then they will quarrel. We should resolve to do as according to God. One should not abide by one’s mind; one should abide by their guru. We have become satsangis for the sake of God. One should behave in a way that God and the Sant are not frightful; they should be able to tell one anything they wish.”

નિરૂપણ

નિત્ય નિત્ય સભા ભરે સ્વામી

તા. ૩/૬/૧૯૮૧ના રોજ પ્રાતઃકથામાં બિરાજ્યા ત્યારે ‘દયાળુ પ્રભુ અક્ષરપુરુષોત્તમ...’ કીર્તન ગવાતું હતું. તે સાંભળી તેનો જ મર્મ સમજાવતાં સ્વામીશ્રી બોલ્યા:

“આ કીર્તનમાં કડી આવી કે, ‘ઉપાસનામાં ગડબડ ગોટા...’ ઉપાસના એટલે ભગવાનને સદા સાકાર, સર્વોપરી, કર્તા અને પ્રગટ માનવા. સાકાર માટે ભગવાને શ્રુતિ ટાંકી છે કે ‘स ऐक्षत।’ ભગવાન જુએ તો આંખ આદિ બધા અવયવો છે. ઘડો સાકાર છે તો બનાવનાર પણ સાકાર હોવો જોઈએ. પરમહંસો ગાડરિયા પ્રવાહ જેવા નહોતા, પણ બધા મનની વાત મૂકી શ્રીજીમહારાજની આજ્ઞામાં વર્ત્યા. મહારાજ કહે તેમ જ કરવાનું. બીજો વિચાર જ નહીં. મહારાજનું આ સર્વોપરીપણું. (વચનામૃત) પ્ર. ૭૬માં શ્રીજીમહારાજ કહે છે: ‘પંચ વર્તમાનમાં દૃઢ વર્તતા હોય, પણ તેનું ગમતું મુકાવીને અમારા ગમતામાં વર્તાવીએ તોય દેહ પર્યંત લેશમાત્ર મૂંઝાય નહીં.’ પંચ વર્તમાનમાં દૃઢ હોય તે સંતને બીજું શું મનગમતું હોય? છતાં કોઈકને એવો ઇશક હોય કે ‘હું આમ સત્સંગ કરાવું...’ તે પણ મુકાવે તોયે મૂંઝવણ ન થાય.

“દરેકમાં પ્રેરણા કરી મહારાજ કાર્ય કરે છે. ‘આણે સારું કર્યું’ એમ નહીં; ‘ભગવાને જ પ્રેરણા કરીને સારું કરાવ્યું છે’ તેમ માનવું. નહીંતર એને વિષે લગની ને હેત લાગી જાય. શ્રીજીમહારાજ અદૃશ્ય થયા દેખાય, પણ ગુણાતીત દ્વારા પ્રગટ છે. એકાંતિક સંત દ્વારા એકાંતિકપણું મૂકતા ગયા છે. આ ચારમાં જેટલી ખામી તેટલી ઉપાસનામાં ખામી. દરેકે અક્ષર-પુરુષોત્તમ ઉપાસનાનું પુસ્તક ખાસ વાંચવું. શરીરને પથ્ય પડે તેટલું જમવું. વધારે ન જમવું. ભોજન પારકું પણ પેટ ક્યાં પારકું છે? સેવા માટે દેહ છે.’’

આમ, આબુમાં ‘નિત્ય નિત્ય સભા ભરે સ્વામી, બહુ વાતો કરે બહુનામી...’ની જેમ જામેલા કથા-કીર્તનના અખાડાથી અર્બુદાચલનાં શિલા-શિખર પણ ડોલવા માંડ્યાં.

June 3, 1981. When Pramukh Swami Maharaj graced the morning discourse, the kirtan ‘Akshar-Purushottam dayālu prabhu’ was being sung. Swamishri explained the significance of this kirtan:

“This kirtan has the phrase ‘upāsanāmā gadbad gotā’. Upāsanā means understanding God to possess a definite form, to be supreme, the all-doer, and manifest. Regarding God’s definite form, [Maharaj] quoted the Shrutis: ‘Sa aikshat’, meaning that if God can see, then he has eyes and other parts [of the body] as well. A clay pot has a form so one who made it also has to have a form. The paramhansas all put aside their own beliefs and behaved according to Shriji Maharaj’s commands. They only did as Maharaj told them. They had no other thought. This is the supremacy of Maharaj. In [Vachanamrut Gadhada] Pratham 76, Shriji Maharaj says: ‘A true satsangi is a person who has absolutely no flaws in the observance of the five religious vows and who remains totally undisturbed until the end of his life regardless of whatever stern commands I may impose - even if I compel him to forsake his preferences and enforce My own.’ What would a sadhu who has the five religious vows firm like? [Nothing... but] even so, some may have the eagerness that: ‘I will spread (increase) satsang in this manner.’ If [God] makes one give up this eagerness, he would not be disturbed.

“Maharaj works through everyone by inspiring them from within. One should not believe that ‘this person did a great thing,’ but rather that ‘God inspired him and enabled him to do a great thing.’ Otherwise, one would become attached to him [instead of God]. It may seem Shriji Maharaj disappeared, but he is present through the Gunatit Sant. He left the example of the ekāntik status through the Ekāntik Sant. The degree of deficiency in these four aspects is the degree of deficiency in upāsanā. Everyone should especially read the Akshar-Purushottam Upasana book. One should eat as much as necessary for the body, not more than that. The food is someone else’s (i.e. made by someone else) but is the stomach someone else’s? The body is for the purpose of serving.”

નિરૂપણ

બપોરની કથામાં વચનામૃત ગઢડા પ્રથમ ૭૬ના આધારે પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજ વાતો કરવા લાગ્યા. તેમાં ભગવાન મનગમતું મુકાવે તે વિગત આવી ત્યારે એક સંત બોલ્યા, “આજ તો સ્વામીશ્રી ભક્તના ગમતામાં જ રહે છે એટલે વાંધો નથી આવતો.”

પરંતુ આ સાંભળતાં જ સ્વામીશ્રીએ કહ્યું, “કોક દા’ડો ભડાકો થાયેય ખરો. જ્યાં લગી ગમતામાં રહે ત્યાં લગી સારું રહે. પણ કો’ક દા’ડો સ્ટિયરિંગ આમેય મચેડી નાંખે ને એક્સિડન્ટ ખરેખરો કરી નાંખે. ભુક્કા બોલાવી દે. તે ઘડીએ આ સ્થિતિ રહેવી જોઈએ. મનગમતું મૂકવું એ મોટામાં મોટો ભીડો છે. મહિનાના ઉપવાસ થઈ જાય, સેવા મોટી લાખો-કરોડોની જબરજસ્ત કરી નાંખે, સત્સંગ કરાવી નાંખે, પણ મનનું મૂકી દે તે ખરો! મોટા મોટાને આ મનનો ભીડો છે. પાકા સત્સંગી થવું હોય તેણે આ વાંચવું ને ઉતારવું.”

Pramukh Swami Maharaj was speaking on Vachanamrut Gadhada I-76 during the after discourse. When the words “I [God] compel him to forsake his preferences...” were read, one swami commented, “Today, Swamishri abides by the wishes of the devotees, therefore, no one has any problems.”

But Swamishri remarked, “Some day he might (compel a devotee). As long as the Satpurush remains within one’s preferences, one finds it suitable. But some day, he may steer the wheel this way and cause an accident. When that happens, one needs to remain composed. The greatest burden is to let go of one’s own whims of the mind. One may fast many times a month, one may donate millions or billions, one may spread satsang to others, but one who lets go of one’s own mind’s wishes is the best. Even the great carry this burden. One who wants to become a staunch devotees should read this and imbibe this Vachanamrut.”
